The History of the Foundation
The Regentropfen Education Foundation (REF) was founded in 2012 paying attention to the desire of the Founder/initiator, Rev. Dr. Moses Asaah Awinongya (SVD) , to provide good quality education to the youth especially to the under-privileged in rural Ghana, thereby reducing the incidence of the younger ones going through what he experienced growing up, namely working at age 15 in the diamond mines in order to finance his education; walking many miles to school on an empty stomach and struggling to quench thirst; lying on the floor to take lessons in school etc. The founder believes that no child should go through difficulty to obtain good and quality education. Children and youth must be supported in whatever way to be educated without having to suffer, this was they have a strong body and a sound mind to concentrate in class.
Objectives of REF
Provision of financial support to children and youth from financially weak families especially orphans and half-orphans
To provide professional guidance to the youth and children in their education and career development
Establishment and running of education facilities in rural environment.
